Drew is the father of two glorious daughters, both of whom were homeschooled from kindergarten. The elder one is now in her first year at SAEL and will be joined by her sister in a few years. When both kids were enrolled at Twin Ridges Home Study Charter School, Drew was a board member for three years.
Drew received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in 1984. He moved to the Sun Valley area of Idaho in 1986 and eventually became a self-employed contractor/carpenter. While there he found himself on numerous non-profit boards and planning committees as well as becoming a planning and zoning commissioner for the city of Bellevue.
In 2005 he went to the Ananda Village in Nevada City to become a certified yoga teacher. More importantly, while there he met his future wife, Laura. They moved back to her home state of Minnesota and started their family. A few years later they decided to move back to the area where they first met.
In 2014, they bought 13 very rough acres in Penn Valley and built a house mostly by themselves and with the help of some very talented family members. Their family today consists of four humans, two cats, three dogs, two goats, and six chickens. The entire family loves this area and their friends and community.
And they lived happily ever after.
